I Love Toy Trains DVD Parts (10-12)ReviewsBe warned... this is the video that tripped my son's obsession with trains! He has been wathching this one probably at least weekly for a year and a half. He loves looking at the trains, singing the songs, and listening to Jeff (the narrator). I was looking for something innocuous to be an electronic babysitter, and even better than that my son now spouts tidbits about trains. A little too much Lionel (as opposed to Flyer)and a little too much of "Jeff", but then this is a children's video. Overall, this is about as good as an electric babysitter gets. Our 3 year-old grandson never tires of watching, and has memorized about half of "The Wabash Cannonball" . Definitely healthy, educational faire, very tolerable for grandparents too (as compared to, uh, Barney.) I got this DVD out of the library after my almost-2-year-old fell in LOVE with parts 1 through 3. I expected more of the same, but with better production values; I was not disappointed by the production values (the sound and video quality is EXCELLENT, particularly in comparison to 1-3), but I have to say that both my son and I aren't very interested in watching it. Instead of train footage accompanied by music, this video has huge amounts of commentary by the young boy "host," almost entirely talking about things we could care less about (loooong details of different models, when they came out, what their specs are, etc). The script was clearly written by someone a generation or two older than the boy reading it, so his comments come across as awkward and stilted. I'm not saying that a boy his age would not know those words, but I have a hard time believing he would use them while gushing about his favorite engine. Since at my son's age he speech music over long, drawn out speech, and the speech makes it hard for me to talk to him about what's going on - this is not a keeper for us. I'm glad I borrowed it from the library before buying it. You have to get this series if you have a train fan in your life. It's just that simple. Aimed at toddlers, it is narrated by a child but it makes it all that much more interesting from their viewpoint. These trains do just about everything and it's neat to hear your toddler's reactions to what is going on. My favorite is when the trains get a bath - I heard all about that one from my little one! Grab all these that you can - they really are great videos and clean, which is definitely nice! My son and daughter (ages 2 and 3 respectively) and I have been watching this series off of RFD-TV and we love it. It's got music, lots of action, some humor, great photographic quality and lots of history. It's hosted by a kid, which should tell you what audience this is aimed at. We don't have the DVD yet.. but if it's the same as what's shown on RFD-TV, which I'm sure it is, it's sure to be a favorite. At this age, they like it much better than "There Goes a Train", which has very little train action and lots of adults talking Average Rating:![]() |

99-02 PONTIAC GRAND AM MIRROR RH (PASSENGER SIDE), Power, SE & GT Model (1999 99 2000 00 2001 01 2002 02) PT12ER 22613584ReviewsThis was a pretty good buy for a replacement if you are on a budget. The only concern is that the mirror sort of blurs the reflection a little bit. I ordered this when my original was broken off in a car wash.. The price was right, the shipping was quick and the item surprisingly fit perfectly. (I have bought other 3rd party items that were...well 3rd party to be nice) My only complaint is in the glass used in the mirror. There is a definite difference between it and the oem mirror...you get used to it but its a bit weird at first. GM only used these mirrors for 2 years for good reason, they tend to break if bumped. Fortunately these are OEM quality for 10% of the price of dealer charges. Replaced both my mirrors, they're smooth & shiny and easy to replace. Item was packaged very well. Shipping was free, and I still got my mirror pretty fast!! It works great, and was just as listed. I will remember this seller the next time I need something for my car :O) Was very happy with my purchase, product was just as described, looked new and worked great. Shipping was a little high, be sure to check shipping cost. Over all I was very pleased with my purchase. Average Rating:![]() |

99-02 PONTIAC GRAND AM MIRROR LH (DRIVER SIDE), POWER, SE & GT MODEL (1999 99 2000 00 2001 01 2002 02) PT12EL 22613585ReviewsThe side-view mirror I purchase was perfect. What a difference in price between what I paid and what it wold cost me to have it repaired at the body shop. I saved about $100.00! That makes me happy! A perfect replacement for the OEM mirror. Great price and wide selection for different models, years, etc This is a perfect fit and same quality of OEM. Everything including electrical fit just as the original. The price you can't beat it. Their customer service was courteous friendly and very helpful. Shipping to Canada was reasonable and they use reliable shipping. I had the new mirror in place in 15 minutes flat without a single adjustment. Recommend this product for sure. Thanks for being so fast with a mirror that worked perfect! The price was very reasonable and the service was great. I didn't have any problems at all with the order. It also came in very quick and in perfect condition, also the packing was perfect for this particular product to say it was a mirror and that it was coming overseas. I would recommend Amazon to anybody if their looking to purcahse a mirror that not only was a good price but also a perfect fit for my car. Average Rating:![]() |

99-04 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE HEADLIGHT LH (DRIVER SIDE) SUV, Laredo, Sport Model (1999 99 2000 00 2001 01 2002 02 2004 04) 20-5576-01 55155129ABReviewsThis headlight fit and worked perfectly. I replaced both headlights because of clouded lenses. These make the car look like new. I have used lens polishes in the past and they are OK, but not as good as new. The description does not say it comes with bulbs but mine came with Sylvania halogen bulbs. Installation is one bolt and then pry the old assembly out; took 20 min. for both sides. Great value allround. I replaced the front headlights on my jeep and it looks so much different. Im so happy easy to install and was delivered quick. I also had fogged over plastic lenses on my Jeep. These are perfect replacements for my 1999 Grand Cherokee Laredo. Replacement was a cinch. A single 7mm hex bolt needs to be removed. The tricky part is prying the unit out. I used a small pry bar to work it out. There are 3 stud knobss that are held in by place by plastic clips. None of them broke for me while prying out. The headlight bulbs are included, but the 3 turn/running light bulbs are not included. I accidentally pried one of those out, but it turns out that you just give those a 1/4 turn and they come right out. Received today when expected by 11/24. Car was out of commission all that time. But once received, installed immediately and now the car looks old compared to the new headlamps. I will agree with the other prior posts, well worth the price to swap out the older fogged-over headlights with these. Removal of either headlamp requires removal of a single long screw, then you can pull forward the headlamp assembly. One thing to note, the headlamp (once the screw is removed) is held on there by a plastic ball-and-socket joint (3X I think), make sure you put those back if they stay attached the old headlight. This happened to me, easy enough to remove them and re-set them into their intended spot. I also totally agree with keeping the old wire harness and sockets, as other people have posted. I didn't even try to swap that, as it didn't look overly easy to get to (and some noted it did not mate properly to the existing wire). Simply swap the sockets to the new headlight, and re-install is a breeze. Thanks to prior posters for saving me some time. The new headlights really do make a huge difference in luminance and appearance, especially for ~$100. Average Rating:![]() |

Track Planning for Realistic Operation: Prototype Railroad Concepts for Your Model Railroad (Model Railroader)(3rd Edition)ReviewsThis is THE book if you want the details on essential layout planning issues. Period. If you are interested in model railroad layouts, you won't be able to put this down. Grades, track spacing, s-curves, basic layout shapes, siding lengths, planning for smooth operations, etc., etc.. Even if you are just thinking about or planning a layout, this book is loads of fun. I do feel that this latest version has been dumbed-down a little. Some of the more technical sections have been truncated, but it is still a complete coverage. However, if you can locate an earlier edition, I recommend it. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is tired of watching the train go round and round with no purpose. Chock full of information and ideas. I find myself going back time and time again to referance it. Highly recommended. I don't usually take the time to do this review stuff, but I felt compelled to let others know about this book. I'm not an experienced model railroader and I have even less experience with full scale railroads, so from this beginners perspective the book is perfect. It walks the reader through the basics of very complex ideas in railroading, model or otherwise, without over simplifying or becoming dull. The concepts as John wrote them are very easy to digest, well organized and well illustrated in diagrams. It explains yards, passing tracks, time tables, curves, grades, and a long roster of other building blocks as it relates to planning, constructing and operating your model railroad empire again at a level of detail that I've yet to come across in some other books and publications I've read. Although I'd suggest this book to any railfan simply to learn more about railroading, I'd strongly suggest this book to those like myself just getting into the hobby of model railroading. This is a great book on how to run and plan your next model railroad. Gives great idea's and samples of yards, train movements and point to point locations. Not just for beginers. John Armstrong is one of the best known names to the model railroad hobby. He has written extensively but this book is his finest work. A person interested in railroads finds himself caught up in lots of detailed scenes and complex trackwork. Armstrong explains what it all does and why it is arranged in the way it is. He does this by explaining railroad practice in the real world and then by looking at the problems faced by the modeler. He does so in a lucid and interesting manner...for the first half of the book. While the first half of the book is dedicated to teaching about how railroads operate, the second is intended to teach how to model them effectively. He explains broad general concepts and then refines things and explains them in easy stages. He knows where the pitfalls are and he points out solutions. This is a useful book for anyone from beginner to advanced but especially the beginner. Average Rating:![]() |

Lionel Accessories at Work on Toy Train Layouts (Classic Toy Trains Books)ReviewsThis is a nice and very useful guide to Lionel postwar addicted. Nice illustrations and very comprehensive texts. A must for the Lionel fans. This book is handy for fixing and maintaining Lionel accessories. It has pictures showing the most popular accessories. My favorite is the Milk Car! I was looking forward to this book with great expectations, and in general I wasn't disapointed. Some acessories were given deeper treatment than others, but the explanations given were clear and concise. I hope that there will be a volume 2 that will cover even more PW and modern acessories. Thanks, Ken This is a great book if your looking for information on old Lionel accessories. It has very good photos and illustrations of each of the accessories and instructions on repair and maintenance of common problems. The author has done an excellent job with these accessories. If your looking for the more modern Lionel products this is not the book. This is a great book if you are interested in Lionel train operating accessories. It describes most of the popular accessories and how to repair and service them. Great color pictures and even a price guide for each accessory. I have read this book from cover to cover and still refer to it quite often. The only thing missing is advice on whether or not to upgrade an accessory to TMCC control for better performance.
